Another great day at Hampton Court. Lots of lovely visitors have been coming to see 'Cinema Paradiso' and the comments continue to be fantastic. The BBC did some filming in our garden with Chris Beardshaw - mostly focusing on the shady planting bed, with a bit of popcorn munching thrown in. The piece is going out in tomorrow's Hampton Court TV show which is due to be broadcast on BBC 2 at 8pm. The feature on our garden is due to be shown towards the end of the programme.
We had a great day yesterday. Very happy to receive our first Silver medal for our garden 'Cinema Paradiso'. But was so exhausted by the end of the Gala evening that I came straight home and fell into bed. The show has been open to RHS members today, and we've had a fantastic response and lovely comments. Looking forward to the rest of the week and meeting lots of great new people
We have a brand new shiny sign, which must mean we're all official. The garden is finished thanks to an amazing team of volunteers who went over everything with a forensic eye. Felt sick with nerves for most of the day, as the first round of judges were due to come to the garden in the late afternoon. But of course they were all lovely, and everthing seemed to go ok. Next round of judges tomorrow - then we can finally relax and enjoy the very comfy seating area we have created for 'Cinema Paradiso'.
Another late evening - we're all getting very tired, but hopefully we're almost there. The garden is pretty much finished, bar a bit of fluffing and cleaning and a tad of snagging. No photos today - hopefully will post some of the finished garden tomorrow.
Late day today, so too tired to upload a photo - but don't want to spoil the surprise anyway! Garden is taking shape, and we've planted one of the main beds today. We still have a fair amount of snagging to do - mostly painting obviously...
Only 2 days to finish the garden!
